A 23-year old man from Normal has been charged in connection with the death of a 3-year old at a house in Normal earlier this week. Nicholas Compton faces three counts of first degree murder and a count of Aggravated Domestic Battery in connection with the apparent beating death of Robert "Robbie" Cramer. The young boy was staying at a house in the 200 Block of Cambridge in Normal when he was reported to be undergoing seizures. He died at Advocate BroMenn Medical center about 5:30 Tuesday morning. Police Chief in Normal Rick Bleichner says Compton was the caregiver for Robbie Cramer when the boy died. McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling says Cramer had multiple blunt force injuries that came as a result of another individual's actions. The Coroner says she is holding off on issuing a preliminary cause of death statement until microscopic tissue studies and toxicology tests are done. Compton's bond has been set at $1 million.
