Western Illinois University has announced its libraries have been selected to receive a collection of books, films and other resources focused on the Muslim faith and related culture. Jeff Hancks is an associate professor and the university archivist. He says materials from the Muslim Journeys Bookshelf are catalogued and available for students to use on campus. Some of the films will be screened starting this fall. The library is one of more than 800 libraries and state humanities councils around the country to receive such collections. The university says the collection was paid for by a grant from the American Library Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
