Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford says he won't make an announcement about a 2014 gubernatorial run until late spring or early summer. Rutherford says he's waiting for the right time. He says one factor is the April 9 election, when voters will go to the polls to elect officials to municipal offices statewide and to choose a replacement for former Congressmen Jesse Jackson Jr. Rutherford is among several Republicans who are mulling runs next year. They include Congressman Aaron Schock, State Senator Bill Brady, and state Sen. Kirk Dillard. Rutherford says he doesn't want to campaign while others are facing election. Quinn says he's prepared for a challenge.
