A 39-year old Bloomington firefighter who also volunteered with the Hudson Fire Department was killed, and five of his colleagues in the Hudson Department injured, when a tractor-trailer hit three emergency vehicles. The emergency responders were working at the scene of a previous freeway accident on I-39 near Hudson at about 10 O'Clock last night. A southbound tractor-trailer hauling a load of automobiles lost control and hit the firefighters. All of the injured were taken to a hospital and were admitted with what are being termed "non-life threatening" injuries. Hudson Fire Chief Dan Hite says they have lost a member of the Hudson family and firefighters thoughts and prayers are with the family of the one killed. McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling will release the name of the victim after an autopsy later today.
