Sunday night's Academy Awards show has the attention of actor-producer Sean Hayes, the ISU alum who was honored at Founders Day ceremonies. Hayes will attend the Oscars and says he's pulling for Argo, the film about the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis, to win best picture.
"The interior of the Canadian Embassy, when they were stuck in the house? Three doors down from where I live, they shot that."
Hayes says his friend, Ben Affleck was snubbed for not getting a Best Director nomination for Argo.
"And Victor Garber, who's a close friend of mine stayed at my guest house while he played...in the Canadian Embassy and would walk three doors down to shoot his scenes. And I would walk down in my pajamas and just be like, 'Ben this is never gonna work. (Laughter) I mean, this is like...what are you shooting? Look at everybody's hair. It's awful.'"
Hayes says he's rooting for another friend, Bradley Cooper, to win Best Actor for his role as a recovering psychotic in Silver Linings Playbook.
