Red Cross "Evening of Stars" speaker announced

Red Cross The featured speaker at this year's "Evening of Stars" fundraiser for the Red Cross of the Heartland has been picked:


Lyn Hruska, spokeswoman for the Red Cross. She says tickets are now on sale for the April 17th event at the Uptown Marriot Hotel in Normal. Best known for her Christian singing, Grant will talk about the importance of giving back to the community. Lyn Hruska says the goal is in line with past "Evening of Stars" events:


Hruska says tickets are now on sale at the Red Cross office for the April 17th event. Last years "Evening of Stars" speaker was sportscaster Joe Buck. The inaugural speaker was TV host and author Charles Kuralt. Others include NPR contributor Cokie Roberts, Senator Bob Dole, and former Bears coach Mike Ditka. Unlike those luminaries Amy Grant, whose hits include "Baby Baby," and "Every Heartbeat," will also sing during the evening.
