The Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington has an unusual visitor right now, a wild bald eagle. Zoo Director Jay Tezloff says the bird of prey showed up last Thursday. It has adult plumage, so Tetzloff says it is at least two years old and may be a female.
Tetzloff says it is not unheard of, but somewhat unusual, for bald eagles to visit McLean County. More often this time of year, he says you can find them along the Illinois river where there is a supply of fish. He's not sure what food source this eagle is using, perhaps fish from the Miller Park Lagoon.
