Mitsubishi reports sales of the central Illinois product Outlander Sport are more than the company's other car model sales combined during December. The Japan-based automaker says 1,770 of the crossover utility vehicles were sold last month, the second best month for sales of the Outlander during 2012. That's a 15.4 percent increase from December of 2011. Misubishi assigned Outlander Sport production to the Normal plant last July. Sales for the electric "i" were 77 units. Overall sales for the auto company were 4,113 units, which officials says in an increase of 15 percent from November. However, the numbers are down 18.3 percent compared to last year.
