McLean County United Way officials report 87% of the fall campaign funds have been raised. That amounts to a total of $3,787,699 of the $4,350,000 goal. United Way development official Gina Mandros says she's not sure if the goal will be reached.
"It's still a little to early to tell how we're going to end up at the end of the month. We know we set an aggressive goal to raise more money than last year but we really believe that McLean County can come together and make it happen."
Mandros says, no matter what the final tally is, McLean County workers and residents have already contibuted a great amount of money to help fund United Way agencies and programs. Mandros says some employer campaigns are still to report, and individual giving can be accepted online and by phone at the United Way office. The final campaign celebration is set for January 30. The United Way funds 66 human service programs and initiatives in McLean County.
