The Federal Aviation Administration is giving the Bloomington-Normal Airport its third straight perfect annual inspection and safety rating. According to a release from the Central Illinois Regional Airport, the FAA is giving CIRA perfect marks for airfield facility conditions, wildlife management, emergency response procedures as well as aircraft fueling, personnel training and other areas. The federal government requires airports that host airlines to meet specific safety standards. In June, the National Weather Service recognized the Bloomington airport for its weather-preparedness procedures.
