The U. S. House Ethics Committee is considering launching a formal investigation into Congressman Aaron Schock. The issue is about fundraising activities. The ethics complaint stems from a $25,000 donation that Schock sought from House Majority leader Eric Cantor. Two government watchdog groups filed a similar complaint with the Federal Election Commission in April. That complaint says Schock's request was five times more than what he's allowed to raise for a super PAC. Schock describes the investigation as the next step in an ongoing process. Schock's office expresses confidence that the matter will be positively resolved. A statement from the Chair of the House Ethics Committee says the panel will determine next steps by January 28th.
