Campus crowd celebrates ISU President More than 500 ISU students and faculty gathered outside of the Administration building to show appreciation for President Al Bowman

This week Bowman announced he is retiring because of health concerns after nine years atop the university. Senior speech pathology student Alex Rodriguez says she wants Bowman to know the difference he has made.

"He has been so great. he is very personable. And I am and R-A and I actually asked him to eat dinner with my floor and he was so open to it and he's just so welcoming and ISU's just really gonna miss him."

Graduate Student Anthony Williams says Bowman deserves a lot of credit.

"President Bowman has been a great President. He has really took ISU to the next level in form of prestige and financially. And um I am here to celebrate his legacy and I wish him the best of luck in his retirement. "

Bowman waved from his fourth floor office window as the crowd chanted for him and then came down to speak.

"It has been a roller coaster of a ride this week. I wish I could retire every damn week."

Bowman says even though the campus is one of the hundred best Universities in the nation it will keep getting better after he leaves because of the great students and faculty. He also gave the crowd a popular parting gift.

"I am gonna write your professors and say you get straight "A"s this semester."

The love fest concluded with more chanting and the singing of the Alma Mater....
