Neither chamber of the Illinois General Assembly will be in session Thursday. That means tomorrow will be the last day of the Legislature's fall veto session. It's also another indication there is no consensus on major legislative issues, like a fix for state pension systems or an agreement to expand legalized gambling. Those will likely be settled in the first week of January before a new General Assembly is sworn in. Northbrook Democratic state Rep. Elaine Nekritz says she will announce a new pension remedy but she hasn't said what that will entail.
