Mitsubishi reports solid sales of the central Illinois product Outlander Sport during November. The Japan-based automaker says 1,520 of the crossover utility vehicles rolled off dealer lots last month. That's a 34% increase over November last year and an 18% increase over October 2012 sales. Mitsubishi began producing the Outlander Sport in Normal last July. Last month's sales of the Sport surpassed all the company's car models put together. Mitsubishi President and CEO Yoichi Yokozawa says the model's strong sales performance bodes well for the next generation 2014 Outlander, which was unveiled last week at the Los Angeles auto show. Overall, sales of Mitsubishi's were off 4.3% last month from year-ago figures, but that total includes models that ended production last year. Of models currently being produced, Mitsubishi says sales are up more than 16%.
