We usually think of school report cards as something that measures student performance. But, State School Superintendent Chris Koch says his agency will poll students, teachers, and even parents next year to find out more about family involvement, the quality of facilities, leaders, teachers, and the quality of instruction and the results will be included in school report cards....

The survey method being used has been around for a decade and was developed by the University of Chicago. Koch says school districts that have good ratings on three out of five of the categories are ten times as likely to have students that are improving achievement than those who have positive ratings in two or less. They survey will go to school districts in February and March.
