A Lincoln expert from Illinois Wesleyan University has praise for the new movie about the last months of Lincoln's life. The movie opens in Bloomington Normal this weekend. Professor Bob Bray says he has quibbles in a few areas but the film starring Daniel Day Lewis as Lincoln is mostly true to the ferocity of the fight in the house over the 13th amendment.
Bray particularly praises the performance of actor Tommy Lee Jones as Representative Thadeus Stevens who favored full integration and repeal of laws banning interracial marriage. He says Jones nearly steals the show from Daniel Day Lewis.
