The campaign manager for Democratic candidate for congress says race is still too close to call. Sherry Greenberg issued a statement this morning after Macon County tallies for all precincts were reported by the County Clerk's office. She says "The results from Macon County prove this is one of the tightest congressional races in the nation. Rodney Davis currently leads David Gill by less than half a percentage point districtwide." Speaking in the GLT studios shortly before the election, Doctor Gill says he knew the race would be close:
"It's one of the tightest districts in the country, and one of the most closely watched."
Greenburg says the Bloomington Democrat is getting some much-needed rest and spending time with his family today. She says the campaign will explore all the legal options to ensure there was a full and fair count of every ballot. Greenburg says today, the Gill team will be looking at the impact of provisional ballots. Davis currently leads Gill by about 1,200 votes
