Businesses in Colfax and Hudson in McLean County are among the first in the state to have video gambling licenses activated. The Illinois Gaming Board has lit up video poker machines at 65 bars, restaurants, and other locations. The board is still working through a list of more than 2,200 applications. Already paying cash for winners is Country Squire of Hudson, Hooligan's Pub in Colfax, D-L and P-M Inc. in Mackinaw, the Sand Trap in Gibson City, and the American Legion post in Urbana. Money from the state share of video gambling revenue will fund capital projects such as the long awaited ISU Fine Arts Complex.
