McLean County Asphalt Company will soon begin construction on an extension of Constitution Trail on the north side of Raab Road to Normal Community High School. The Town of Normal has accepted McLean County Asphalt's low bid at just under 115 thousand dollars. Council Member Sonja Reece says the Town wants to create a safe bike path for students who go to Normal Community.
City Engineer Gene Brown says the extension will be completed by the end of this year's construction season. The project will be funded from revenue generated by the Town's motor fuel tax.
