Illinois State University is providing a refuge of peer support and transition for its student veterans. The Veterans Study Center in Moulton Hall is now open to those with a military background. U-S Navy Veteran Matthew Schumacher says the transition from military to civilian life isn't easy. Schumacher says the study center provides a place for vets to connect.

Schumacher says the center is another place of support. Every year I-S-U has between 400 and 500 veterans enrolled. President Al Bowman says the study center compliments the many services I-S-U offers to service men and women. Bowman says I-S-U has been recognized as a campus that's friendly to vets.
