Latinos United for Change are continuing their campaign to stop ICE Holds by addressing the McLean County Justice Committee. An organizer for Illinois Peoples Action and L-U-C, Jennifer Carrillo, says ICE holds are voluntary and, she says, McLean County doesn't have to comply with them...

Sheriff Mike Emery says he told the L-U-C 15 months ago this is a Federal issue, and to contact their federal representatives. Emery says the issue not being talked about is undocumented immigrants who are here "illegally" who have been "arrested for a violation of McLean County charges..."

Justice Committee Board Member Bette Rackauskas says, in regard to the sheriff's job, there's a fine line between discerning public safety and discrimination.
