Bloomington Police say they used a police dog to take down a suspected burglar in a residence the man had broken into. Officers suspect 74-year old Charles Anderson in between ten and twenty other break ins in the last month and up to a hundred in the Bloomington area in the last four years. Assistant Chief Bob Wall says it is unlikely property will be recovered but the department hopes the arrest will set the mind of the community at ease. Police say they had been observing Anderson all evening and when he fled back into the residence on East Jefferson Street, they let the dog out. Anderson was treated for bites at O-S F Saint Joseph Medical Center and then taken in for questioning. At the time of the arrest he was out of jail on parole for one burglary and on bond for another.
