The race to replace a retiring southern Illinois congressman will now include a third-party candidate. 59-year-old Green Party candidate Paula Bradshaw will be on the November ballot in the campaign for the 12th Congressional District seat and will take part in three debates before then. The emergency room nurse and political activist from Carbondale faces Democrat William Enyart and Republican Jason Plummer in the race to succeed Democrat Jerry Costello. Illinois State Board of Elections chief Rupert Borgsmiller says Bradshaw was added to the ballot after a challenge to her candidacy was withdrawn. Bradshaw's campaign chairman, Rich Whitney, says the challenge was over the legitimacy of signatures gathered by the campaign.
