Bloomington is bringing back its facade grant program in an effort to spruce up appearances in the downtown area. The City is announcing it will make $200,000 available to encourage private investment in improving the appearance, safety, structural integrity, and quality of storefronts and buildings. The city offers a 50-50 match on costs up to $25,000. The program is named for the late local philanthropist Harriet Fuller Rust. City leaders agreed to resume the expired program after a building collapse in the central business district last year.
