Bloomington police are investigating the death of a man who was apparently run over by a semi while sleeping near a roadway on West Market street overnight. The body of the man, in his 40s, was found by an individual shortly after 1:30 in the driveway of one of two adjacent gas stations near the I-55-74 intersection. The dead man had apparently been sleeping next to a guard rail between the two businesses. The area was dark because one of the gas stations was closed overnight. Police suspect the semi-truck driver likely didn't see the victim or felt any impact. There were no witnesses to the incident and the exact time is uncertain. Bloomington Police aren't saying if they believe the victim had any drugs or alcohol in his system when he died. They say more information on that could be forthcoming when the McLean County Coroner reveals the victim's identity.
