The head of the Heartland Partnership, an economic coordinating and booster organization has resigned. A news release from the Peoria based group says Jim McConoughey resigned as President and CEO a week ago. A search for his replacement is currently underway. The Heartland Partnership includes the Chamber of Commerce, and Economic Development Council. McConoughey's resignation takes place as a new entity, the Economic Development Steering Committee, held it's first meeting. During the gathering at the Peoria Civic Center McConoughey's effectiveness was questioned.
