A former gubernatorial candidate says he's running for mayor of Bloomington. Lex Green says he plans on filing papers next month. He was the Libertarian party candidate for Governor two years ago. He espouses limited government, and says he'll bring that philosophy to city government as mayor. He's critical of TIF districts, and money used to encourage new carriers to the airport. He's an electrical worker at Mitsubishi, which was lured to the twin cities in part by including the auto plant in a Tax Increment Financing District. Illinois Wesleyan University Political Scientist Tari Renner and State Farm analyst Alton Franklin also say they want the job. Mayor Steve Stockton is not running for reelection.
