An on-line survey on the question whether to allow video gambling in Bloomington shows a resounding yes vote. More than 400 people responded positively to the city poll with about 50 people saying no to the idea. Comments in support of licensing the practice included allegations that video gambling for cash is already taking place in town and having the city council legalize it would result in increased tax revenue. Opponents say it will break up families, increase crime, and cost more in overtime and police and social services than it brings in to city coffers. The City Council has already had one work session on the issue.
