Hot, dry weather is putting much of Illinois' corn and soybean crop in peril. To figure out what's behind the drought, and what it'll take to get out of it, IPR's Brian Mackey spoke with Jim Angel, the Illinois State Climatologist. Angel says the drought has been building slowly since the first of the year.
