Where you live could have little impact on the school your children attend under a scenario being considered by Unit 5. In response to growing student populations, McLean County's most populous school district is looking at instituting 'open attendance' for elementary students. Under the plan students would be assigned to schools according to classroom space not geographic location.
The school board last night also voted unanimously to continue it's move to outsource student transportation by firing it's bus drivers. There was no discussion prior to the vote.
