Mon, 09 Jul 2012 17:01:26 CDT

Illinois U-S Senator Dick Durbin says Congressman Jesse Jackson will soon have to report to constituents about his medical situation. Jackson's office announced two weeks ago the congressman is taking medical leave, but has offered few details why. Durbin says his heart goes out to Jackson and his family..

"As a public official though, there reaches a point where you have a public responsibility to tell people what you're facing and how things are going. Senator Kirk has done that and I think Congressman Jackson will face that too."

Durbin's counterpart, Senator Mark Kirk, suffered a stroke last January. Kirk's office released a video five months later about his recovery processs. Jackson's office had no comment on Durbin's remarks. Congressman Danny Davis, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus with Jackson says he has no idea what's going on with Jackson.
