President Barack Obama has signed a transportation funding law. As a result, Illinois will be seeing an increase in transportation projects ... and jobs. At least that's what U-S Senator Dick Durbin says. The Illinois Democrat says the legislation will make it easier for the state's transportation department to commit to highway, bridge, and mass transit projects.
"I think the job figures for next month are going to be better as a result of it. And that's good news for us. It has been more than a thousand days since the last bill was passed."
The Illinois Department of Transportation says it'll place 60 new bids for projects next month, which would provide more than one-thousand jobs.
