State officials say a man who has spent more than 30 years behind bars after being convicted of murder in a 1980 killing in eastern Illinois is scheduled to be released from prison after prosecutors dismissed charges against him. Department of Corrections spokeswoman Kayce Ataiyero says 50-year-old Andre Davis is being released from the super maximumm security prison at Tamms in southern Illinois. The Champaign County state's attorney's office has agreed to dismiss charges against Davis in the rape and killing of 3-year-old Brianna Stickle in Rantoul. An Illinois appeals court in March ordered Davis be granted a new trial. New testing not available at the time of his conviction found DNA evidence didn't match Davis.
