Advocate BroMenn Medical Center is ready to open its new tower. Starting at seven a-m Monday nurses will wheel the beds of expectant mothers and other patients in the obstetrics, progressive care, and intensive care Units from old sections of the hospital to the new section of the facility. The State Department of Public Health has ruled the 79,000 square foot addition is fit for occupancy. This is the final step in Advocate BroMenn's nearly $54 million facility replacement project. The new tower has a canopied external entrance just west of the hospital's main entrance. Staff have been planning the shift in patients for sixteen months. The transfer of all patients able to be moved is expected to be complete by late morning.
