Central Ilinois Republican Congressman Aaron Schock says the gun running incidents which caused the deaths of several border patrol officers are inexcusable. He says the actions of Attorney General Eric Holder, whether it be ineptness or a cover-up, are grounds for termination. Holder is being investigated over gun trafficking charges that fell into the hands of Mexican cartel thugs. During a stop in Bloomington, Schock spoke aburptly about Holder.
Schock and other Republican congressmen want to make sure Holder keeps his word that no detainees from Guantanemo Bay will be brought to Thomson if the federal government decides to purchase the vacant state-run prison in Illinois. Schock wants assurance from the President of the United States that no detainees from Guantanemo Bay will end up in Thomson. Schock says he supports the sale of the western Illinois facility to the federal government.
Schock is making his way through the Bloomington-Normal area during a district work period. Parts of McLean County could fall under the Peoria Congressman following redistricting.
