Caterpillar is raising its quarterly cash dividend by 13 percent. It's the biggest percentage increase in the dividend since the financial crisis hit in the fall of 2008. Caterpillar says its board approved a 6-cent increase to put the quarterly cash dividend at 52 cents per share, up from 46 cents. The new dividend will be payable on Aug. 20 to stockholders of record at the close of business on July 20. In August 2008, the Peoria, Ill., heavy machinery manufacturer increased its dividend by 16.7 percent.
