Animal rights group targets lunch crowd in Peoria A national animal right's group is providing people in downtown Peoria with 'food for thought' today with a demonstration featuring a ten foot puppy dog in a hot dog bun. Members of Mercy For Animals are holding signs saying, "Why Love One but Eat the Other?" Phil Letten is campaign coordinator for the group:


While the group would like to wean people away from ALL meat consumption, Letten says there's a difference between farmed animals, and hunted ones that end up on the table:


Mercy for Animals claims it's underground expose's of factor farms has resulted in new laws meant to reduce animal suffering. The group's campaign includes billboard, along with the protest tour that's stopping in Peoria today.
