The deadline for workers at the Caterpillar facility in Joliet to reach agreement with the Peoria-based heavy equipment manufacturer has come and gone, with no settlement. Caterpillar says it's "exhausted the negotiating process," and is now advertising for workers with ads in the Chicago and Joliet area. The company says it'll revert to an offer made in April which had already been rejected by members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. No further talks are currently scheduled.
