The lead prosecutor at former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's corruption trials is joining a Chicago-based law firm. Jenner & Block have announced Reid Schar will begin working next month. After a 13-year career as an assistant U.S. attorney, Schar is most closely associated with proceedings against Blagojevich. The ousted governor's first trial ended mostly deadlocked. But after simplifying their case, prosecutors won convictions on 17 of 20 counts at the retrial. Blagojevich started serving a 14-year prison term in March. Schar shouted his first question to Blagojevich in a blistering cross-examination at the retrial, asking: ``Mr. Blagojevich, you are a convicted liar, correct?'' Blagojevich conceded he'd been convicted at his first trial of lying to the FBI. Schar's duties at Jenner & Block will include handling white-collar cases.
