Indiana native Dan Muller is the first Illinois State University mens' basketball player in the modern era ever to return to the campus as head coach. The late-90's standout will take over a Redbird program poised for success after a strong 2012 post-season run and a large crop of returning players. Muller has spent the last 12 years as an assistant coach to Kevin Stallings at Vanderbilt. Stallings coached Muller when the two were at ISU. Muller succeeds Tim Jankovich, who took a position as "head coach-in-waiting" at Southern Methodist last month. WGLT's Willis Kern talks with Muller about taking over the Redbird program.
Redbird forward Jackie Carmichael says he's excited to have Muller as the team's new head coach.
