The Normal Town Council voted to spend over $136,000 on artwork for the Multi Modal Transportation Center, now known as the "Uptown Station," although you will likely never see any of it. Because the public area of the building has mostly glass walls, the artwork will go upstairs in the new Normal City Council chambers. Councilman Adam Nielsen raised objections to the way the art was picked by a group of three people, saying that kind of expense deserves more public input. The artwork is expected to be installed in about three weeks.
