NATO may be bringing some of the world's best and brightest to Chicago this month but that does not seem to include the organization's media production team. In a video released in anticipation of the upcoming summit in Chicago, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization misidentified the capital of Illinois:
"On the 20th and 21st of May, Chicago is going to be at the center of attention. The leaders of the member nations of the organization created by the 19-49 member treaty, will meet in the capital of Illinois this time."
The narrator of the five-minute video also says President Barack Obama grew up in Chicago. The president moved to Chicago as an adult after a childhood spent in Hawaii and Indonesia. After the Chicago Tribune reported the errors, the video on NATO's website was edited to remove the mistakes.
