An arrest has been made in connection with a brazen theft in East Peoria two years ago. 46year old Cuban national Amed Villa is charged with stealing 3,500 cases of cigarettes from a warehouse in January of 2010. The heist was made possible after thieves stole semis from a Morton truck company to haul away the smokes, valued at $8-Million. Authorities say Villa is part of a crime syndicate that also stole prescription drugs worth some $80-Million in the east coast. He was taken into custody in Miami Thursday.
