Mitsubishi auto sales in the U-S and Canada continue to fall sharply. They were down nearly 35% for April compared to the same month last year. Mitsubishi says it expects several more months of declines because it is impacted by models whose production was completed last summer and has not yet ramped up new models. Production of the new Outlander Sport is expected to begin this summer at the assembly plant in Normal. Total company sales in north America were less than 53-hundred last month. And so far this year 215 of Mitsubishi's all electric "I" vehicles have sold, 79 of them last month as the state by state rollout of that model continues. Rapid sales growth in the rest of the industry so far this year is slowing to about two percent this month.
