Republican State Representative Dan Brady of Bloomington, a member of the Governor's Task Force for Workers' Compensation Reform, and Co-Chair of the Illinois House Workers' Compensation Reform Committee, says pension reform is one of the key issues facing the state. Brady says pension reform is integral to solving Illinois' budget woes. He says Medicaid reform is also a top issue.
"I think the people in my district are understanding the fact that we have to begin seriously making these cuts"
Brady says those who may be affected by the cuts are still of the mind that cuts should be made, someplace else. He says they feel some tax hike could help stave off the cuts, but Brady says he doesn't share that opinion. He says the cuts and reforms are necessary.
