The Spring survey by Bloomington's Country Financial offers more evidence of an improving economy. The index of at least 3,000 Americans shows a modest rise of point-4 percent in consumer confidence. Keith Brannon is Vice President of Financial Security Planning at Country, he says although the index increase is slight, there's a bigger picture:
Brannon says that segment of the population is the 40-to-50 year old group. He says that's the group that's seen the most pessimism in the economy. Other results of the survey include a five point increase in those who say the can send their children to college, but a 2 point rise in the number of Americans who say their overall level of financial security was getting worse. Keith Brannon says now that most people've taken care of their 2011 taxes, it's a good time to re-evaluate financial plans.
