Bloomington Fire officials are investigating an explosion and garage fire that caused burns to an 85-year old man. Firefighters say patrons of the nearby Western Tap heard a loud report about 9:30 Wednesday evening and found the man lying on the floor of his garage. They pulled him out of the fire. The man was later taken by helicopter to a Springfield hospital. Firefighters needed only about fifteen minutes to put out the flames, but the garage, a mini van, and other equipment are a $35,000 loss.
