Illinois' newest Mega Millionaires are planning ways to treat themselves and may take a vacation, but they'll still call Red Bud home. Patricia and Merle Butler bought a $3 quick-pick ticket to the March 30 drawing at a convenience store in the southern Illinois farming community about 40 miles southeast of St. Louis. Today, the Butlers stepped forward to claim their winnings of about $111 million after taxes. Sixty-five-year-old Merle Butler says he and his wife have been meeting with financial advisors and lawyers since the drawing. He says they're working on an investment strategy and could "possibly" take a vacation with their new cash. But the Butlers say they don't plan to move out of Red Bud, which has about 3,700 residents. Merle Butler says Red Bud is "a nice, comfortable, family-oriented community" that they've called home for a long time.
