Home sales are taking off in the Peoria area thanks to warm weather and other favorable conditions. Peoria Area Association of Realtors President Laura Martin says sales rose 24% in March and 21% for the quarter. Martin says the realty sector is not just an economic indicator, but a significant contributor to the economy. She says every home sold creates $18,000 of immediate economic activity....
Martin says with inventories dropping and prices increasing, the marketplace is leveling out. The average price of a home sold in Peoria in the first quarter rose seven percent. Inventory dropped nearly 15%.
