IWU suspends frat following student death

An Illinois Wesleyan University Fraternity has been suspended in the wake of a student death in northern Illinois. IWU Dean of Students Carla Carney Hall says a university judicial affairs hearing found that Sigma Pi did not have adequate safeguards for its members health and well being.


The greek system is also looking into risk management practices and a campus wide task force is considering new policies for off campus events. Brandon Landau died with alcohol and marijuana in his system after being found unresponsive in a stream the morning after a drinking party.
